30.09.2026
I started with a simple idea: name a song, find its physical medium and show the compartment and number. The documented history starts on 30 September 2026; the first idea’s exact date is unknown.

01.–02.10.2026
The first Windows editions were still named VM. Versions 0.0.5 and 0.0.6 led to 0.0.7 Beta with multi-level sorting, print lists and the same compartment rules. Windows is now VM-W; Android stays VM.

VM-W-1.0.2.0 Beta
In VM-W-1.0.2.0 Beta I bring the new import and export features, selectable backup media types and three-level history to Windows. The optional voice goodie starts off. Existing data and activation remain the basis for updates; practical Windows testing remains necessary for this beta.

15.10.2026 · 1.1.0.0
I organise Android and Windows into two clear main areas: 1 Work for collection, entry, analysis, backup and exchange, with 2 Reference data, settings and administration below. Search and adding media stay directly accessible. The crest gains Bangert-Software and its own information panel. Startup now shows the black Technics SL-1210MK2. A recognised full version shows licence management instead of first-time activation; existing data and entitlements remain the foundation.

20.10.2026 · 1.2.0.0
I add videotapes, films, music videos, books and comics. Counters, series, volumes and conditions stay with the right item. Photo capture includes local OCR and EAN, reviewed web covers, singles/maxis, media visibility, signed module licences and shelf groups in print and Excel. Both platforms share the extended data fields. Physical device acceptance remains separate.

21.10.2026 · 1.2.0.1
I correct cassette headings to show existing content titles, including several films. I use cassette and book labels and the full Windows client width. Books show their volume number in the volume/media number field and use a shelf/cabinet number label. I add video cassette and book statistics. Stored titles, IDs, counters and licence data remain unchanged. Actual Windows device acceptance is separate.

21.10.2026 · 1.2.0.2
I align collection cards to equal heights within each Windows row. Titles and notices remain complete. Location and media-number bars line up across the row. I retain the full window width, compact layout and existing data.

21.10.2026 · VMW1.2.0.3 Beta
I keep the collection portably in Daten/Profil beside the Windows program and retain native licensing in AppData. Normal updates and the manual patch preserve the data folder. Media visibility is directly accessible and at least one type remains enabled. Prices and modules link to the homepage. Backups include local time with seconds and the record-number label is spoken in full. I retain a matching Windows default voice. Demo management appears only with demo records. CD unverified hints disappear without rewriting covers or Discogs mappings.

The startup screen gained a silver turntable, rotating platter and original music. Duration and music are configurable; the default is seven seconds. Saying “Abbruch” only prepares cancellation: two taps confirm it.

I combined spreadsheet locations and Discogs tracks, protected personal entries and separated private backups from the empty customer app. New Discogs media need a compartment and number; identical releases may be separate copies.

VM-1.0.2.0
With 1.0.2.0 I add professional Excel (XLSX), reviewed CSV/Excel/JSON import with individual decisions and this three-level history. A complete saved protection backup precedes import. Existing locations are preserved; new copies need a place.

VM-1.0.2.0
The voice module is an optional goodie without guaranteed functionality and starts off. I can enable it locally; existing voice and licence rights still govern access. Turning it off stops microphone and speech without deleting a draft.

I transfer Android import files in bounded, acknowledged blocks. The filename, reading progress and cancellation are visible. Preview, both confirmations and the protection backup remain in place. Physical Pixel testing remains separate.

21.10.2026 · VM 1.2.0.2 · Code25
I bring the VM-W display improvements to Android: tapes show their existing film and clip titles, books their volume and shelf or cabinet number, and statistics count videos and books separately. Cards and number bars align within each row while full titles remain readable. Landscape uses the screen width to show more media. I preserve the collection, licence and acknowledged chunked file restore. On Pixel, landscape shows two wider cards side by side. After searching, a dedicated results view uses as much display space as possible. Back returns to the full controls and preserves the search fields.

21.10.2026 · VM 1.2.0.2 · Code26
I make media visibility directly accessible through its own settings menu item and a clear button below the normal heading. I replace fixed prices with a link to the matching product page, where regular and promotional prices can be managed centrally. I retain the readable results view, collection, activation and protected restore. The sample-data notice is shown only when sample records are actually present. Personal JSON backup filenames include the current app version and local date and time to distinguish multiple backups made on the same day. CD results and their spoken locations omit the blanket unverified notice; stored covers and Discogs references remain unchanged.

In the first Android versions I expanded search, voice and location output. HB0.0.1 had been started; HB0.0.2 added export and full backup. Original compartment and medium numbers had to stay intact.

30.09.–01.10.2026
HB0.0.3 and HB0.0.4 added five media kinds, track editing, counters, draft protection, backup prompts, genres and print lists. Song search became collection management for CDs, LPs, cassettes, tapes and MiniDiscs.
